Degree:  Safety, Environmental or related technical degree

Experience level: 5+

Compensation:  $60,000-$75,000 based on experience level

Location:  San Antonio, Texas

Industry:  Construction – Excavation and Sitework Development

Travel:  75% travel (All local)

Must have at least (5) years of safety experience within the construction industry. This position will be responsible for the ongoing development, implementation, integrity and effectiveness of the EHS function for this mid-size and growing construction company.  Monitor the safety and regulatory compliance of work activities and identify opportunities for improvement. 

Must be a strong hands-on leader and motivator capable of dealing with all levels of management, employees and field personnel.  Ability to drive safety culture, be a safety resource/advocate for the employees and create sustainable initiatives.  Must be technically sound in construction safety with a strong understanding of site work. 

Key Requirements include:

  • Degree in related technical field – safety, health, environmental, science
  • 5+ years of safety and health within the construction industry
  • Strong trenching and excavation experience
  • Strong heavy equipment safety experience
  • Ability to develop strong working relationships both internally and externally
  • Strong leadership and communication skills required
  • Ability to travel locally and be available on Saturday work days
